Economic dependency often keeps women in informal settlements trapped in generational poverty. Waste Pickers Welfare Foundation, in institutional partnership with DUDA (District Urban Development Agency) Ghaziabad, launched a comprehensive women empowerment initiative.

Mobilization into Registered SHGs Over 3,500 women have been organized into Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Each group operates with structured group savings, bank account linkages, and mutual financial support mechanisms that provide a vital buffer against emergency economic shocks.

Vocational Stitching & Tailoring Centres Alongside financial literacy, WWF runs vocational training centres where women master sewing machine operation, garment cutting, and embroidery. Trainees gain the skills needed to establish home-based tailoring services or join local garment production clusters.
